I started photography in my freshmen year with Photo 1 and I continued photography all 4 years of high school. However, it was not until my junior year of high school I decided I wanted to be a photographer. I watched a docu-series called Tales by Light and I saw what different photographer do and I feel in love. I wanted to be a photographer with all my heart and I would move heaven or hell to become one. The summer of my senior year is when everything changed for me. I went to Pakistan to take pictures for my concentration and there I found a love for photojournalism. This style of photography was different from everything I was taught in school and through my knowledge of photography I was able to get amazing images that I am so proud of. "Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still" Dorthea Lange. I am going to college to study international business and photography so I can become a photojournalist and start my own business. I want to show people's culture and lives through photography and share their stories.
